Moits Haulage adds more capacity to fleet

Moits Haulage adds more capacity to fleet

Capitalising on Sydney’s building boom, local family business Moits continues to add capacity to its 50-strong fleet.

Drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience, the Moit family is well known in Sydney’s commercial road transport scene. Brothers Michael, George and Tony Moit have built the company from just one Bobcat in the 1980s into one of New South Wales’ leading excavation and civil works businesses – boasting a company fleet of 50 trucks and a team
of 100 people.

One key person supporting the family is Norm Yammine (main image), General Manager of Rock and Dirt Recycling, a Moits subsidiary, as well as Road Transport Manager at Moits Haulage. That’s quite a title and quite a job, but it has taken Norm less than three years with the company to work up to that position from when he first came on board as a load allocator.

Norm’s youth and enthusiasm are well balanced by George Saliba (or Ox, as most call him), who has worked with the Moit family for 30 years and hands-on manages the maintenance of the truck and construction equipment fleet.

At the moment, he is responsible for some 48 excavators, two bulldozers and numerous other pieces of earthmoving equipment, as well as trucks with load capacities ranging from 1.5 to 65 tonnes.
