NatRoad, the National Road Transport Operators Association, was formed in 1994 when the Long Distance Road Transport Association and the National Transport Federation decided to combine their respective strengths to form a new, nation-wide industry association. The Victorian Transport Association is a management resource for the transport industry set up to add value to transport businesses through the provision of authoritative information and experienced professional advice. As Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Transport Association, a role he has held since late 2014, Peter Anderson is the voice of over 800 transport and logistics operators in Victoria, with a focus on enhancing the productivity, safety, workforce development and sustainability of the industry through leadership and advocacy.
Established in 1989, the Australian Trucking Association is the peak industry body to represent trucking operators in Australia. The ATA’s members include major logistics companies, transport industry associations and businesses with leading expertise in truck technology. Current ATA Chair is Noelene Watson.
The Truck Industry Council, Australia's peak truck manufacturer group, has set itself the task of representing the trucking industry, responding positively to concerns of the public by building trucks that meet the world's most stringent safety and environmental standards. Current president is Phil Taylor of Isuzu Australia.
The Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association was formed in the mid 1980s with the vision of being the technical resource for the road transport industry in Australia. It seeks to bring together manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, parts and services to the road transport industry to promote safety, productivity and the general reputation of the industry. Current Chairman is Peter Hart.
The Australian Logistics Council represents the major Australian logistics supply chain customers, providers, infrastructure owners and suppliers. The ALC works with all levels of government to ensure it considers the needs of the logistics industry in its investment and policy decisions; and focuses its advocacy efforts on four key areas with the aim of improving supply chain efficiency - including supply chain logistics safety, infrastructure, regulation and technology. The ALC is led by Managing Director, Michael Kilgariff.
