  • Operator licensing: the next RSRT?

    In April, the ATA led a convoy of trucks to Parliament House in Canberra to protest against the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal (RSRT). Its Road Safety Remuneration System would have threatened the viability of multitudes of owner-drivers and small trucking businesses, particularly in rural and regional areas.

  • New medical standards to improve safety, reduce costs

    The National Transport Commission and AustRoads have published the latest version of the medical standards for private and commercial drivers, Assessing Fitness to Drive. The standards are used by doctors conducting medicals for driver licensing and under accreditation schemes such as the ATA’s TruckSafe program.
