Swinburne to open manufacturing research centre in China

A joint collaboration between the Swinburne University of Technology, Shandong University Weihai, Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone (WZ) and the Australian Education and Management Group (AEMG) will see an advanced manufacturing centre to open in Shandong, China in 2017.

According to a statement released by Swinburne, the joint research centre at WZ’s technological park will focus on the areas of 3D printing, automation and mechatronics, biomedical devices and medical manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, and advanced materials.

“This research partnership aligns with Swinburne’s strategic direction and one of our key research institutes,” said Swinburne’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Aleksandar Subic.

“We believe this partnership will be mutually beneficial for all parties, as we work together to create impact in the field of advanced manufacturing.”
