Allison teams up with LHP Telematics

American commercial duty transmission and hybrid-propulsion manufacturer, Allison Transmission, has announced this week collaboration with custom white label telematics solutions company, LHP Telematics.

Based in Indianapolis, LHP Telematics focuses on original equipment manufacturers and dealer networks in off-highway, on-highway, construction, motor coach and agriculture markets.

According to the company it provides customisable telematics solutions using configurable Embedded Application on the device to what it calls the customisable and brandable web portal.

The partnership is foreseen has improving remote support for fourth and fifth generation Allison transmissions.

Allison Transmission in a statement said the alliance was the next step in its commitment to increasing growth in the connected ecosystem as part of its mandate to support existing and new customers with connected capabilities.

“More of Allison’s customers will receive remote access to critical information about their transmissions from sources they know and trust,” said John Coll, Allison Transmission, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Sales and Service.
Support for additional vocations and global regions were planned although Allison had not yet indicated if this would include the Asia Pacific region.

“The Allison partnership further enhances our ability to offer custom CAN-enabled solutions to our OEM customers that have additional value propositions above and beyond standard telematics,” said Travis Jones, LHP Telematics Chief Technology Officer.
“The transmission is one of the most complex and expensive components on most equipment and this service can reduce costs and downtime at the OEM, dealer and end customer,” he said.
