Australian Road Express and Rivet Mining placed in receivership

Australian Road Express and Rivet Mining Services – both part of the part of McAleese descendant, Rivet Group – have been placed into receivership.

McGrathNicol told CRTNews that following a “request of the directors”, the company’s Rob Kirman, Rob Smith and Anthony Connelly were appointed as receivers and managers, with Andrew Cummins and John Carrello of BRI Ferrier serving as Voluntary Administrators.

The receivers also pointed out they intended the companies to operate in the short-term while they conduct an urgent appraisal of the business. “The objective…is to work closely with management, personnel, suppliers and customers to keep operations running as smoothly as possible whilst this appraisal takes place,” they explained.

They added the process does not impact the broader Rivet Group, including the Rivet Energy, Rivet Mining Services West and Refuel International businesses.

Australian Road Express was formerly known as WA Freight Group and covered WA Freightlines, Jolly’s Transport and Jetstyle Express, and operates nationally with locations in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Rivet Mining Services specialises in lifting and haulage solutions for the mining, energy and infrastructure industries and has locations in Newcastle, Rockhampton and Emerald. It is said to operate a fleet of around 250 pieces of equipment.
