Organisers of the Brisbane Truck Show have confirmed that this year’s edition will showcase awards for the last two year’s best industry design, engineering and manufacturing achievements, influenced by a culture of innovation and safety.

According to the organisers, the awards will be judged by Australia’s leading transport and equipment journalists, with award categories including best trailer and categories for best light or medium and best heavy duty truck.

One of the newest awards sure to generate intrigue will include The Best Performance-Based Standards (PBS) innovation category, focusing on initiatives to achieve greater productivity for specific tasks, with the application of an overarching requirement to exceed safety benchmarks.

Other award categories include new technology, component, equipment or service innovation and the best body innovation.

The 2017 Brisbane Truck Show Awards will be presented at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on the first evening of the show Thursday, 25 May.
