BST launches in-vehicle fanless embedded computer

Backplane Systems Technology (BST) has unveiled a new Neousys Technology in-vehicle PC that is specified for rugged road transport applications.

Powered by Intel 8th-Gen Core processors (up to 6 cores/12 threads) and 64GB DDR4 memory, the Nuvo-7100VTC is purpose-built, with a significant performance increase over previous generations and a range of effortless connectivity options.

It offers either four or eight 802.3at PoE+ ports to supply 25W power to connected devices such as IP cameras with M12 (x coded) connectors, and connector screw-lock mechanisms on computer I/Os like Gigabit Ethernet, USB3.0, and USB3.1 to guarantee extreme rugged connectivity in environments prone to shocks and vibration.

Wireless connectivity is vital for modern-day in-vehicle applications, and the Nuvo-7100VTC rises to the challenge with two M3 sockets and three mini-PCIe sockets that can be utilised with corresponding 3G/4G, WiFi, GPS, and CAN modules for wireless communication.

Finally, the Nuvo-7100VTC also features isolated CAN bus for in-vehicle communication, isolated DIO for sensor/actuator control, 8~35V wide-range DC input with ignition power control, and is certified in compliance with E-mark and EN50155. Altogether, this leaves the Nuvo-7100VTC as a perfect solution for a wide assortment of in-vehicle and commercial road transport applications.
