Cameron Group reaches major milestone

Mack has handed over the keys to Glen Cameron's newest Mack Granite prime mover, marking the 1,000th truck that has joined the company's fleet since 1975.

The handover took place at the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show in May, with Dean Bestwick, Vice President of Mack Trucks Australia, presenting the keys to the milestone truck to Director, Glen Cameron.

According to Cameron, the new Mack will be put to work in urban local deliveries around Melbourne covering around 50,000km per year.

"I'm delighted and proud to get to 1,000 trucks. The Cameron Group has been in business now for 43 years and the only reason we have gotten so far is because we have employed good people and grown together," said Cameron.

"The new Mack replaces our 341st truck which we purchased in 2000 which was also a Mack that was driven by Michael Hydman for 17 years. Michael has been with me for over 30 years, but unfortunately recently was forced into retirement due to health problems. It is poetic to replace his hard working Mack with a new one at this milestone purchase for the company."
