Recently appointed Italian Ambassador to Australia, Stefano Gatti, has attended meetings with senior IVECO executives last week.
It was the first such visit by the Ambassador who toured IVECO’s manufacturing facility where he took in the latest improvements to operations alongside Pierluigi Trombetta, Consul General of Italy.
Bruce Healy, IVECO Australia Business Director was on hand to greet Gatti and outlined the successful cooperation between Australia and Italy in developing IVECO’s range of truck, van and bus products for the local market.
“It was an absolute pleasure to host the Ambassador and Consul General,” said Healy.
“Both gentleman were impressed with the scale of our facilities and very interested to learn more about our local manufacturing efforts and how we work collaboratively with our Italian colleagues to develop IVECO products for the Australian and New Zealand markets.”
Located in Dandenong in Melbourne’s southeast, IVECO headquarters is supported by 50 dealerships and service outlets nationwide.
It currently employs 600 staff in Australia.
“Our local team also highlighted some recent upgrades to our local facilities in preparation to manufacture additional new models here in coming months,” said Healy.
“IVECO Australia welcomes the close collaboration between our two countries and hope to again host both gentleman on site in the near future.”
