SPONSORED: Compliance Made Easy: Workshops for QLD Road Freight businesses

The Federal Government has estimated the cost of road transport regulation administered by just the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development at $294.31 million – this is an alarming 52 times greater than the regulatory cost for rail!

This cost does not consider regulation administered by other portfolios, nor the fact that the bulk of road transport regulations are the responsibility of states and territories.

Taking all of this into account, there’s little wonder that complying with regulation can be a significant business cost for road transport operators. With many levels of regulation and enforcement and frequent changes to requirements, keeping on the right side of the law is challenging.

Queensland road freight operations will be glad to hear that workshops are on their way to the state in June to help break down the latest laws into easy to understand chunks. NatRoad in partnership with Transport Super is running a series of summits around the country to help road transport operators navigate this twisting, turning highway and reduce their red tape burden.

The sessions are aimed at anyone associated with the road transport industry including freight companies, contracting businesses, warehouse operators, truck drivers and other industry stakeholders.

With presentations from regulatory, technical, political, compliance and enforcement experts including the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, The Police, TruckSafe and Transport Super, these workshops are an opportunity to hear the latest updates and what you need to know now.

Free for NatRoad members and just $20 for non-members, these workshops are designed to give road transport operators the latest insights they need to keep their business on track.

The roadshow will be visiting Yatala on Wednesday 6 June, Burpengary on Thursday 7 June and Townsville on Friday 8 June. Places are limited, so get in quick.
