ComVec conference

The Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) has announced the launch of Australia’s first dedicated Commercial Vehicle Engineering Conference, ComVec, which will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) precinct on the 5 and 6 June.

“ComVec builds on the successful CVIAQ Future Directions Seminars held in 2010 and 2011 and will provide the future direction of Commercial Vehicle innovation, technology, policy and standards for our industry. ComVec is also uniquely dedicated to the professional development of the industry, in particular those professionals engaged in the engineering and product development and planning of commercial vehicles and their components,” said CEO of CVIAQ, Brett Wright.

“The two day ComVec program has been given full endorsement by Engineers Australia Queensland Division, the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers Australasia. ComVec features specialist industry and government speakers selected on their ability to provide information on technology at the cutting edge as well as insights and direction on future developments of vehicle policy and standards.”

Topics to be covered include:
• Australian Vehicle Standards
• UNECE Vehicle Standards
• Vehicle Certification
• Emission requirements and their effects
• Heavy Vehicle Safety Systems
• Advanced Combination Vehicles
• Heavy Vehicle Telematics and Electronics
• Energy use in Future Transport

According to CVIAQ Business Development Manager Noelene Bradley, “The event has been structured to allow delegates time to fly in and arrive at the venue for the start on the first day. The inaugural ComVec conference has all the ingredients required to stamp it as the most outstanding industry event of the year.”
