Crane Trucks R Us grows fleet with custom ‘island cabs’

Crane Trucks R Us has grown its Queensland-based fleet with the addition of 19 new trucks, including Volvo, DAF and ‘island cab’ modified Isuzu trucks.

The Isuzu FYJ2000 series trucks have been modified by Wales Trucks in NSW, cutting out the door and refitting it with 700mm removed from the passenger side to provide extra space for carrying long lengths of steel.

“The island cabs are also fitted with Palfinger cranes and are designed to go in narrow streets, specifically for our BlueScope and One Steel contracts,” said Fred Mohammed, Managing Director, Crane Trucks R Us.

The company also added 10 new DAF CF85 model twin steer trucks with rear mounted Palfinger cranes with remote control and six Euro 5 Volvo FH 600 road train rated prime movers.
