DB Schenker celebrates five decades in Australia

Transport and logistics company, DB Schenker, has released an e-book about its history in Australia since it first set up shop in 1962.

DB Schenker CEO for Australia and New Zealand, Ron Koehler, said that the business has grown from simple pioneering beginnings to an efficient organisation that has forged its presence across the nation.

“Half a century ago we offered just basic freight forwarding services,” he said. “Today we provide sophisticated supply chain solutions across many industry sectors: electronics, industrial, automotive, healthcare,
consumer, arts and retail transportation. And proudly on our résumé are landmark projects like the Sydney Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, as well as billion dollar resource and infrastructure projects in
Western Australia.”

Koehler explained in the foreword of the e-book that it tells the story of how DB Schenker contributes to all Australians, and is committed to delivering value.

On November 23 1962, Schenker & Co. (Australia) registered as a business and officially commenced operations in Sydney. It was the first Schenker branch in the Asia-Pacific region.
