Hino extends sponsorship of IRWIN Racing

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Hino Australia, has confirmed an extension of its sponsorship with Irwin Racing as it furthers its commercial involvement with the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Hino Australia Head of Customer and Brand Dimitri Andreatidis said the company was delighted to extend its association with team owner Charlie Schwerkolt and Team 18 under the Irwin Racing banner.

“The partnership between ourselves and Irwin Racing has natural synergies given our customer base and the team’s other sponsors,” said Andreatidis.

“We see this association with Irwin Racing as a natural extension of our involvement with the Supercars Championship – it provides excellent networking opportunities for our customers and dealers, who we know are fans of the sport,” he said.

New team members include Mark Winterbottom, the 2015 Supercars Champion, who has had an immediate impact behind the wheel of the Triple Eight Commodore while respected race engineer Phil Need was appointed as Technical Director and Steven Richards, five-time Bathurst winner has been named as the team's endurance driver.

Irwin Racing has started the 2019 season with three top ten finishes in the first six races.

“With so many fantastic changes within the team, 2019 promises to be a year that delivers results on and off the track for our fantastic group of sponsors – we are delighted that Hino will be a part of our team again,” said Schwerkolt.

Following the success of its first three year partnership with the Supercars Championship, Hino announced in late 2018 that it would again be appointed as the Official Light & Medium Duty Truck and Bus Sponsor for the Supercars Championship for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons.
