Industry talks CoR and Load Restraint Guide

The Goulburn Valley Road Transport Group hosted a heavy vehicle forum in Melbourne last week to discuss Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation and changes to the Load Restraint Guide.

National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Stakeholder Specialist, Simone Reinertsen, National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) CEO, Warren Clark, National Transport Commission (NTC) Project Director, Paul Davies and Driver Education Centre of Australia (DECA) Business Manager, Warren Smith presented at the event in Shepparton.

Goulburn Valley Road Transport Group Chair, Gerard Michel, told news publication Riverine Herald that the evening was a huge success.

‘‘There are quite a few topical situations at the moment with Chain of Responsibility and Load Restraint Guide so we thought it was timely that this sort of forum was put on from an information and awareness point of view,’’ said Michel.

‘‘There were quite a number of operators and service providers and to actually have that level of people in the room to hear what was being presented was fantastic.

‘‘I can only hope that they’ve gone away with a bit more information than what they came with and I think they have,” he said.
