Isuzu targets fleet sales increase with new appointment

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has appointed Tony Kerr to the role of National Fleet Sales Manager.

With an MBA from Swinburne University, Kerr has 30 years of experience in transport solutions and sales. He will be responsible for strategic growth as IAL looks to increase its fleet sales across Australia.

Prior to IAL he worked with Comet/Kwikasair Express, Scania, Volgren, among others.

Kerr said he planned on bringing different perspectives and approaches to understand customer business and needs. In the role he hoped to provide satisfactory long-term transport solutions to help customers achieve their business objectives.

“What I want to do here is to first understand our customer’s business, and their objectives. We’re not just selling a truck to them—we’re also working on how that truck can grow their business,” he said.
He said IAL was focused on providing solutions to assist with the every day challenges customers faced.

“I’m looking forward to working with such a recognised and respected brand. I couldn’t be happier with the appointment and look forward to forging new relationships,” said Kerr.

According to Phil Taylor, IAL Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kerr's appointment will help the sales team achieve higher levels of growth.

“Tony comes to us with a broad-ranging background, and his experience in all facets of the road transport industry will stand him in good stead for what is a challenging role,” he said.

“Working closely with National Sales Manager Les Spaltman and his team, I expect Tony to not only fit in well, but thrive in his new position with the truck market leader.”
