Isuzu unveils new medium-duty dual control vehicle

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Isuzu Trucks, will debut an FVY 240-300 Dual Control medium-duty control truck at the upcoming Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE).

Customised for the refuse and recycling sector the truck is one of three F Series dual control units due for release by Isuzu Trucks in Australia.

It will be joined by the new FVD 165-300 and FVZ 260-300.

Isuzu currently has an FSR 140-260 dual control in the marketplace.

Held on October 30 and 31 at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, AWRE is expected to attract around 1,500 manufacturers, suppliers and distributors from the UK, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Isuzu Australia Limited National Sales Manager, Les Spaltman, said that the new dual control F Series models had impressive payload and capacity for their size.

“With payload and power-to-weight advantages critical factors in our approach, these dual control solutions really stand out in the market,” he said.

“Part of the rationale for selecting the FVY platform for this job was the availability of the Hendrickson HAS460 airbag suspension system in the rear," said Spaltman.

“This industry-leading component alone represented a huge weight saving of around 500kg, as compared to more common multi-leaf steel spring suspension set-ups."

Spaltman said it was an operator advantage Isuzu had sought to apply to this particular specification as the company looked to deliver cost-effective, fit-for-purpose capital equipment to meet market demand.

“We’re continually striving to improve our offering and partnering and mixing with like-minded business and industry leaders ensures that we are exposed to the latest thinking and ideas," he said.

“Isuzu and AWRE have a longstanding partnership, and we continue to offer our services and support in their efforts towards fostering better waste and recycling management.”
