Lindsay Fox lands on top Ten Australian rich list

Transport mogul Lindsay Fox today was confirmed by Forbes magazine as one of the 10 richest people in Australia.

The founder and owner of Linfox Logistics has a total fortune currently estimated to be worth $3.6 billion.

With 5,000 commercial vehicles operating across Australia and the Asia Pacific region the logistics empire also incorporates a business park, two airports, currency-management outfit Armaguard and an extensive industrial property portfolio.

Gina Rinehart retained her position as the richest person in Australia despite having her estimated net worth fall $1.8 billion to $14.8 billion as iron-ore prices faltered.

Bianca Rinehart, Gina’s daughter, dropped to 11 on the list after losing 38 per cent of her net worth in a tough 12 month period.

Mining tycoon and politician Clive Palmer returned to the top 50 for the first time since 2014 at 20.

In compiling the list Forbes used data from stock exchanges government agencies, analysts and private databases.

Net worth was based on stock prices and exchange rates after close of markets 11 January.
