Linfox award winner adds to achievements

A Linfox employee has been awarded the prestigious National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year.

Coralie Chapman, Linfox Transport Scheduler, was recognised last week by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) for the strong contribution she has made as a woman within the Australian trucking industry.

A finalist for two years running, Chapman was named Trucking Industry Woman of the Year at the Trucking Australia 2019 Foundation Sponsors Awards Gala Dinner in Perth.

The award includes a one week trip to America.

Chapman accepted a traineeship at Linfox nearly two decades ago and has since then worked her way through the ranks to posts in administration and operations.

Her first recognition from the ATA occurred in 2016 as a winner of the Cummins South Pacific Trucking Australia competition.

A member of the  ATA Communications Committee, Chapman was made secretary of the Transport Women Australia (TWA) board in 2017.

In March last year she was one of 11 industry representatives handpicked for the Daimler Truck and Bus Future Leaders professional program.

As part of the initiative to inject fresh talent into the industry, Chapman developed a project to enhance the image of the industry and raise awareness of safety.

“I love working in logistics and I feel very honoured to be recognised for something I love to do,” she said.

“Over 19 years in the industry, I’ve seen a huge change in the acceptance of women. It’s great to see so many more women playing an active role.”

“Coralie has a strong work ethic, a steely commitment to resolving complex logistics tasks and an uncompromising attitude to safety,” said Linfox General Manager, Richard Conron.
