National Drought Appeal receives crucial support from PACCAR Australia

Dealer and suppliers in the extended Kenworth network have responded to recent calls for donations to the National Farmers Federation Appeal in conjunction with Rotary Australia.

PACCAR Australia, confirmed that it has helped to mobilise a group of supporters to assist farmers and others in regions seriously affected by the drought.

The commercial vehicle manufacturer extended its thanks to HELLA Australia, Assemco, Brown and Watson International, Gilbert & Roach Kenworth DAF Huntingwood, Gilbert & Roach Kenworth DAF Newcastle, Heavy Automatics, Hilton Manufacturing, Rae-Line, Suttons Kenworth DAF Arncliffe and Zinc.

Each of the companies made direct and valuable contributions to the combined fundraising effort.

“We would also like to recognise the efforts of our PACCAR employees who enthusiastically participated in a variety of fundraising activities to add to the total donation,” PACCAR Australia noted in a statement.

“The extended Kenworth Family formally contributed $116,000 within the Appeal, but there were many more Dealers and Suppliers who were involved outside of the program via their own direct activities,” the company said.

“Through their efforts they more than doubled this amount.”

PACCAR Australia pledged to continue its efforts to assist those in affected areas and would encourage others to continue their on-going support for our rural communities.

“While some rainfall in drought-affected areas has been welcomed, the persistent and on-going lack of significant rain continues across New South Wales and Queensland.”
