New Isuzu Australia CEO bullish about the future

Recently appointed Isuzu Australia CEO, Hiroko Yaguchi, has outlined an ambitious agenda for her tenure at the helm of Australia’s best-selling commercial vehicle brand.

“I look forward to building on the 28 years of market leadership and helping the organisation accomplish even more success in the years ahead,” Yaguchi, who formally took up the position at the start of June, said in a media statement.

“It’s an honour to be joining [Isuzu] at such an important time in the company’s history,” Yaguchi added. “We are fast approaching a very significant milestone in three decades of unbroken market leadership, and I want to work with everyone here to ensure that we secure this achievement and many more years of success.”

Yaguchi can draw on 30 years of experience within the Isuzu organisation, having served as the General Manager of the International Sales Department since early 2016, and as regional sales manager for various countries across Central and Latin America, Asia and Europe prior to that.

“I have been fortunate to visit over 40 countries in the course of my work,” she said. “It’s this understanding of the broader Isuzu organisation – and the unique requirements that each individual market has – that will assist me in working with the talented team here in Australia to continue the excellent effort and success that has been attained over many years.”

Isuzu Australia emphasised that Yaguchi was familiar with the Australian market and operations through her previous role, and that attending the Brisbane Truck Show and a subsequent dealership tour gave her a “detailed insight” into the company’s local operation.

“All of this has provided a comprehensive overview of the company and our industry-leading dealer network, and just how our products and services assist our customers in the successful running of their businesses,” explained Phil Taylor, Director & Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Isuzu Australia.

“We have a well-planned strategic direction and we’re looking forward to Yaguchi-san’s input and support for our collective efforts to remain Australia’s number one selling truck brand.”

Yaguchi herself said she was excited about continuing to deliver a “best-practice product” in the coming years.

Yaguchi serves as both Managing Director and CEO.
