Melbourne-based shipping service provider, Norman Carriers, has celebrated its 70th anniversary.
The celebration was held at the Showtime Event Centre in South Wharf on 29 November.
"We have built a resilient business that has strived in a tough industry," said Norman Carriers Managing Director, Gareth Hearnden.
"Upon the back of hard work, persistence and striving for excellence, it was amazing to be able to celebrate three generations of my family's company, reflecting on where we had come from and what the future will look like," he said.
RollCall Safety Solutions Sales Director, Dean Langenberg, said Hearnden presented a touching speech that paid respect to his Grandfather and co-founder of the company, his parents and the many staff.
"I have no doubt that if we could we would be standing up celebrating another 70 years one day, maybe it will be Gareth's grandchildren standing at the podium, let's hope so," he said.
Since 1949, Norman Carriers has been a family owned and operated business. In 1976, Norman Carriers was incorporated under the leadership of the founder's son, Grahame Hearnden.
