NSW introduces changes for oversize special purpose vehicles

New South Wales Government agency, Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), has introduced changes for oversize special purpose vehicles to provide more flexibility to travel between construction sites over the 2017/18 Christmas holiday period, according to the National Road Transport Association (NatRoad).

“The main change is to the daytime travel curfew for cranes and special purpose vehicles traveling under the National Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicles Notice,” according to NatRoad. “This has been removed during public holiday periods in New South Wales, making it easier for cranes to operate during these periods as required.”

NatRoad has also said that there is no change to night travel requirements for oversize mobile cranes and special purpose vehicles during the Christmas holiday period.
