NTC farewells outgoing Chairman

National Transport Commission (NTC) Commissioner and Chairman, David Anderson, has resigned from his respective positions on 8 December.

Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Darren Chester, thanked Anderson for his valuable contribution to the achievement of national reform priorities.

NTC Chief Executive, Paul Retter, said David’s leadership of the NTC over the past four years has been outstanding.

“David’s focus on ensuring the NTC’s strategic direction and work program priorities reflect the needs of relevant ministers has greatly benefited the national land transport reform agenda,” said Retter.

“On behalf of NTC Commissioners and staff members we thank David for his contributions and wish him well in the future," he said.

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has thanked Anderson for his contribution to the Australian transport and the heavy vehicle industry.

NHVR CEO, Sal Petroccitto, said Anderson’s guidance over the past four years had provided the foundations for the NHVR to deliver significant reform across heavy vehicle safety and productivity.

"David and his team have shown strong leadership in developing legislation and have been willing to collaborate with the NHVR and heavy vehicle industry to progress important initiatives," said Petroccitto.

"While David was a significant contributor in his role as Chairman, he also lent his experience as part of the NHVR’s PBS Performance Review Panel and across freight policy.

"I've welcomed his counsel on many issues and I wish him all the best in his future."

Petroccitto said the NHVR looked forward to continuing a close working relationship with the NTC to continue the safety and productivity programs being delivered across the heavy vehicle industry.
