NTI backs 14th Burrumbuttock Hay Run

Transport insurance specialist, National Transport Insurance, was a major sponsor of the Burrumbottock Hay Runners 14th Hay Run, which took place 24-26 January.

The hay run stretched from Darlington Point (New South Wales) to Quilpie (Queensland), marking the 14th convoy in five years to distribute multi-million-dollar hauls of hay.

NTI CEO, Tony Clark, said it is important to recognise that drought is an ongoing issue and it is the long term continuation of support that helps make a difference.

“Droughts don’t happen overnight, and they can’t be overcome overnight,” he said.

“Our farmers are relying on the ongoing support to make a real impact.

“Thousands of Australians, and generations of families, dedicate their lives to sustaining agriculture in our unforgiving climate. The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners show the true spirit of this country through the combined efforts of volunteers, businesses, and community groups who donate their time and resources - year after year.”

Founded by Brendan ‘Bumpa’ Farrell in 2014, the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners helps members of the transport and farming industries by transporting and providing essential resources to drought stricken farmers.
