Seychell Construction praises Isuzu fleet

Adelaide-based Seychell Constructions has shared the results of upgrading its fleet to new Isuzu tippers from North East Isuzu.

Owner and Director, Tony Seychell, said his company added an FXZ 1500 long wheelbase fitted with a tipper body, an Isuzu FTR model, and an Isuzu NLR 45-150 with short wheelbase to the fleet over the last 12 months.

The FXZ 1500 provides Seychell with 257 kW of power at 2,000 rpm, and a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 24 tonnes.

“The guys that are driving the automatic are extremely surprised at the power it has,” Seychell said.

“It’s towing an eight-tonne excavator as well, so it’s definitely not underpowered.”

The Isuzu FTR model haules gas pipes across South Australia, drawing on 761 Nm of torque at 1,450-2,400 rpm, the truck has a GVM of 15 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the Isuzu NLR 45-150 with short wheel base has an automated manual transmission (AMT) with 375 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm and a GVM of 4.5 tonnes.

Seychell said the trucks are assets to Seychell Constructions.

“To us, the Isuzus are reliable and comfortable for drivers,” he said.

“The fuel economy on the trucks is good and they offer great value for money when you look at the power you’re getting in the truck.”
