Show n Shine promises prizes for Western Star fans

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Western Star Trucks, has announced it will provide prizes for entrants at its upcoming Show n Shine event on Saturday 17 November.

Held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds, the now annual showcase of Western Star heavy vehicles will award flights, accommodation and passes for two people to a round of the 2019 Supercars.

Shell fuel gift cards, truck light bars, truck fridges and merchandise will be awarded for those owners of Western Star commercial vehicles to impress across a group of competition categories.

The categories will include Best Western Star Truck under five years, Best Western Star truck under 10 years (5-10 years), Best Western Star truck over 10 years, Best Western Star truck fleet, Best Western Star rigid truck and a heritage competition for the Best White truck.

A wide array of entertainment for Western Star customers and their friends and family is planned, commencing at 2pm.

This will include a meet and greet with Shell V-Power Racing Supercar drivers, Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard.

A performance from Australian country artist Mick Lindsay who has returned from Nashville, will follow later in the day.

Award-winning country music artist, Troy Cassar-Daley will conclude the event with a special twilight performance.

National radio station, Kix Country, will also support the event where it will situate itself to broadcast live.

Attendees will be asked to make a voluntary donation upon entry with proceeds going to Rural Aid, a charity organisation that provides assistance to relieve the resulting poverty, illness, and distress of people impacted by natural disasters.

“The inaugural Western Star Trucks Show n Shine last year was a tremendous success,” said Kim Ruddock, Penske Transportation Group International General Manager Marketing.

“It’s a great day out for everyone - whether you are a Western Star or White truck enthusiast, or if you’re after a great community day out to see the impressive line up of trucks, meet with the Shell V-Power Racing Supercar drivers, or see Mick Lindsay or Troy Cassar-Daley perform,” she said.

“The day will be jam-packed full of entertainment for all.”
