TCA announces new Executive General Manager

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has announced the appointment of a new Executive General Manager.

Stuart Ballingall will take up the position from 6 May 2019.

Ballingall will finish up at Transport Victoria where he has served as Director of Future Vehicles and Transport Innovation.

Previous to this he worked at VicRoads and Austroads.

His significant board and governance committee experience includes the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) Board, the National Positioning Infrastructure Advisory Board, the national Land Transport Technologies Working Group, and several other national and international committees on vehicle and transport technologies.

Last January, TCA was acquired by Austroads Ltd, the peak organisation of Australasian road transport and traffic agencies, led by Chief Executive, Nick Koukoulas.

In a period of ongoing national and international transport reform Koukoulas said Ballingall's proven experience in delivering complex technical programs in transport technologies, information systems, policy and regulatory reform was important.

"TCA’s mission is to provide assurance to governments, industry sectors and end-users in the use of telematics and related intelligent technologies," he said.

“We trust Stuart will lead TCA in a way that is innovative, drives growth and supports the state and federal governments' current and emerging transport needs,” said Koukoulas.

“We are looking to build on TCA's strong reputation and excellent work through a refresh and revitalisation of the organisation."
