Truck ban in Port of Adelaide

In a bid to make Port Adelaide more attractive to tourists, protect its heritage and decrease noise and traffic congestion, the Port Adelaide-Enfield Council has placed a permanent ban on heavy vehicle.

From next week, heavy vehicles will be diverted around the centre of Port Adelaide. The Transport Department believes this move will reduce the number of trucks in the Port by up to 1100 each day.
