Uber autonomous truck business under pressure

Google parent company, Alphabet, continues to apply pressure to Uber’s self-driving truck business, now trading as Uber Advanced Technologies Group (ATG).

According to Fortune and Recode, Alphabet now wants Uber to hand over the letter that caused its CEO, Travis Kalanick, to resign.

“In June, several Uber investors delivered a letter titled ‘Moving Uber Forward’ to Kalanick,” Fortune reported.

“It reportedly said Kalanick must ‘immediately leave’ and the company needs a change in leadership.”

Alphabet – which filed a lawsuit against autonomous truck start-up Otto and now-parent Uber for patent infringement – is reportedly under the impression that the contents of the letter might contain information that could be relevant to the case.
