Volvo appoints new Vice President of Sales

Volvo Group Australia has appointed Clive Jones to the role of Vice President Sales, Volvo Trucks Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. He will commence the new role on 1 August.

Jones, who is currently the National Sales Manager – Volvo Truck and Bus in New Zealand, replaces Mitch Peden who will move to the role of Managing Director, Volvo Malaysia.

Peter Voorhoeve, Volvo Group Australia, President and CEO, said Jones has been an instrumental figure in building the presence of Volvo Trucks and Buses in New Zealand.

“We are looking forward to leveraging his deep insight gained from more than 20 years of experience in the truck industry,” he said.

“Clive has been part of the Volvo family for most of his career, from the early days when he started driving a Volvo FH up and down the highways of New Zealand. He has a deep understanding of our customers and our product, and his appointment only adds to the strength of the Volvo Group Australia leadership team.”

In a statement Jones said he was eager to continue on with the successes of his predecessor as he looked to take the Volvo Trucks brand forward as a market leader.

“My involvement with Volvo Group Australia spans my entire tenure with the Volvo brand, and I’ve met many Australian customers along the journey thus far,” he said.

Jones said he was a believer in developing the skills and mindset of staff, who were, as he put it, the “key to our success.” Customer focus would continue to be a major focus for him.

“Alongside a passion for Volvo, being able to work with the best people in the business in Australia has been a significant part of my decision to take on this role, and I relish the challenges and opportunities it will bring.”
