VTA State Conference set to influence the influencers

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) said that 2019 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the Australian freight and logistics industry, which is why it has themed its State Conference to keep up with reform.

“Legislators and regulators across state and Commonwealth jurisdictions are right now making reforms and changes to policies and laws that govern how our industry works, which will inevitably have implications for operator costs, efficiencies, and profit margins,” the VTA said in a statement.

“Examples of this reform include the current review into National Heavy Vehicle Law [HVNL] being led by the National Transport Commission [NTC], and the Victorian heavy vehicle driver licensing review the VTA is leading.

“These and other industry reforms under has prompted the VTA to theme our March 24-26 State Conference Keep Up With Transport Reform, with guest speakers and sessions that will present the latest industry information on what these changes may mean for your operation.

“Attending the conference will arm you with the knowledge and market intelligence you will need to adjust your operation to align with reforms to such important areas as the law, road user charges, training and education, and other areas that impact your bottom line.”

Among the many presenters to address delegates are the very people responsible for the reforms being considered, including:

The conference is being held from 24-26 March at Silverwater Resort, Phillip Island, a short 90-minute drive from Melbourne. Discounted Early Bird registration is available until 8 March.
