Western Star 5800FE unveiled at Brisbane Truck Show

As part of its return to the Brisbane Truck Show, Western Star will showcase the 5800FE and 6900FXC commercial vehicles according to an announcement made today by Penske Transport Group.

Powered by a Detroit DD15 engine, the 5800FE features a down swept exhaust as part of its improved aerodynamic profile with a set-back front axle now synonymous with the Western Star brand.

Ideal for B-double applications, the recently released Western Star 5800FE will be accompanied on display with the robust tri-drive 6900 model rated for 250,000kg GCM and paired with a 600 horsepower Cummins X15.

“Since we released the streamlined 5800FE last year, customers have told us that they have found the truck to be outstanding,” said Kevin Dennis, Managing Director Penske Commercial Vehicles.

“The truck not only looks sleek, but is a great unit particularly for B‐double applications," he said.

“We also think truck show attendees will enjoy learning more about the 6900 that has been a true stalwart of the Australian trucking industry.”

DJR Team Penske’s Dick Johnson will be at the stand from 11.30am on Sunday May 19 for a meet and greet with show attendees.

Visitors will find Western Star Trucks and MAN Truck & Bus at stand 50 (foyer).
