2011 Australian Trucking Convention to be held in Canberra

The ATA has announced that Canberra will be the host for the 2011 Australian Trucking Convention.

The convention will be held at the National Convention Centre from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 May 2011.

ATA Chief Executive, Stuart St Clair said the 2011 convention will give the industry the chance to speak to the government and meet with Ministers, Shadow Ministers and senior government staff

“The 2011 convention has been timed to coincide with a sitting week for the Australian Parliament,” said Stuart.

“That means all MPs will be in Canberra, giving the trucking industry the opportunity to deal directly with them, both one-on-one and at the event itself.

“With a federal election to take place sometime before the convention, the industry can use the event to talk through the issues affecting trucking with both the Government and Opposition.

“The Australian Trucking Convention was last held in Canberra in 2008. It was a great success then and I expect the 2011 event to be even more fruitful for the industry.”
