After 10 years absence, the Convoy for Kids makes a return to Brisbane with an event scheduled to take place on October 30, 2010. Convoy for Kids started in Brisbane in 1991 with the idea that a few fellow truck drivers could get together and raise much needed funds for Camp Quality.
Over the years the convoy grew to hundreds of trucks and raised awareness of Camp Quality as well as raising funds. Following in the footsteps of that effort by all those involved from the past, a new group of helpers has been formed to fill the void in Brisbane for a signature event in Queensland.
The convoy will start at Heathwood on Brisbane’s Southside and weave its way through Brisbane to finish at Redcliffe Showgrounds. The day will continue with a Truck & Ute show for the convoy participants. There will also be stalls and trade stands for the public to view as well as an auction and entertainment throughout the day and evening.
