Leading logistics and transport company, Centurion, will continue to operate with heightened awareness of the risks associated with COVID-19 during the current lockdown measures imposed on residents and businesses in Perth and its surrounding areas.
Despite only recording one new coronavirus case in the last three days, all of Perth Metro, South-West and Peel Regions are included in WA Premier Mark McGowan’s five day lockdown.
As road transport is classified an essential service, Centurion has made temperature checks mandatory for all drivers to gain access to customer sites with access prohibited to any pickup and delivery drivers who fail to wear a mask.
Split shifts are in effect to ensure there is no crossover of staff members according to a recent announcement made by Centurion.
“In line with requirements, we have reactivated our COVID-19 Business Risk and Continuity Plan for our Perth-based operations to ensure the utmost safety of all Centurion staff and stakeholders, and to mitigate the potential transfer of the virus,” the company said in an online statement.
“Our primary focus is to keep our people safe and informed of any impact this virus may cause. We would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support and understanding during this period.
“We will get through this. Stay safe all.”
Staff who have been in one of the known hot spots recently were told not to attend any of the company sites.
