Courier company launches franchisee model

On the back of reporting a delivery increase of 48 per cent, Aramex Australia has announced it will support courier franchisees.

Exponential growth in the thriving COVID-19 e-commerce market has driven demand for a new courier model known as Courier Lite.

The new additional courier franchise model leads to faster delivery times, without requiring additional infrastructure expenditure according to Aramex Australia.

Courier Lite provides a benchmark for other franchise businesses that need to scale up quickly, without investing in additional infrastructure expenditure such as bigger warehouses.

The Courier Lite Franchisee reportedly focuses on high demand areas and only collects parcels from the home depot once per day, freeing up time for traditional courier franchisees to nurture relationships with existing customers and cultivate new business.

Aramex Australia CEO Peter Lipinski said the industry-wide shift to B2C deliveries over the last 3-5 years has rapidly accelerated in 2020, thanks to COVID-19.

“Online shopping has been booming in Australia in recent years, and the current restrictions have turbo charged this growth. We expect this to continue in coming months and years,” said Lipinski.

“The simplicity of this delivery model is innovation as it creates more time for our traditional courier franchisees to focus on pick-ups which are the most profitable part of their business and more guarantees for our customers that we will deliver a positive customer experience as well as creating a significant opportunity for the new Courier Lite franchisees,” he said.

“All this happens without the need to invest in costly additional infrastructure. By a simple change to the delivery cycles, we are able to tick a lot of boxes for our Courier Franchisees, our customers and our new Courier Lite Franchisees.

Courier Lite drivers will share the same uniform and vans as traditional courier franchisees. Aramex Australia claims low start-up costs will help create an attractive entry-level opportunity into the wider Aramex Australia network.

It also paves the way to eventually becoming a courier franchisee.

“For any Australians looking for an entry-level franchise opportunity in an industry that is booming, Courier Lite is the answer,” said Lipinski.

“Courier Lite is a delivery focused model that works as a first step for those considering becoming a successful courier, and is the perfect fit for any current contractors working within a logistics network.

“If you want the independence of running your own business and are a customer-focused person, Courier Lite provides the security of a Franchise Agreement, support and training from our team and the opportunity to join a globally recognised brand.
