Detroit Diesel expansion

A major expansion program at the Detroit Diesel plant in Redford, Michigan in the USA is being funded by Daimler Trucks to the tune of US$194 million. The plan is to substantially expand the heavy-duty BlueTec engine production facility.

The new investment will be concentrating upon the facility for manufacturing cylinder heads in a bid to increase production capacity over the next 12 months. The new DD 15, DD 13, and planned DD 16 for the Australian truck market will all be manufactured at the expanded Redford plant.
