Ford Australia adds 12-seater Ford Transit Bus to line-up

All the features of Ford’s popular range of Transit commercial vehicles are now combined in a 410L, 12-seater, rear wheel drive (RWD) variant that comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Access to the nine rear seats can be done conveniently with the power-operated left-hand side loading door, which is driver-operated from the key fob or a switch on the dashboard.

The Ford Transit Bus – and every Transit – also comes with AEB with Pedestrian Detection as standard as part of a comprehensive Driver Assist Technology suite.

Advanced Driver Assist Technology includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Aid, Lane Departure Warning with Driver Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition all of which come as standard.

As part of the advanced safety features of the Transit Bus the additional innovative tech of FordPass Connecti which unlocks a range of services including remote start and stop, so drivers can start their vehicle’s engine with a simple tap of their smartphone in order to heat or cool the cabin before they set off with their group.

Transit’s advanced new-generation powertrain is now Euro 6.2 compliant and standard across the range.

Powering the Ford Transit Bus is the 2.0L EcoBlue engine, which develops 125kW of power and 390Nm of torque. It features high-pressure direct fuel injection, an advanced aluminium cylinder head, high-performance variable geometry turbo as well as auto stop-start for maximum efficiency and lower running costs.

Critical for business operators, the Transit Bus also has 30,000km/12-month service intervals.

For those travelling on longer trips, or requiring more space, the Transit Bus is available with an optional higher roof, which offers overhead storage and LED reading lights for passengers.

With a full-colour 8.0-inch touchscreen operating Ford’s latest SYNC 3ii infotainment system, Transit Bus also gives access to FordPass Connect, which offers convenient ‘connected car’ technology, pairing with the available FordPass App to simplify customers’ ownership experience and unlock a range of new services including Remote Start and Stop, Remote Lock and Unlock, Live Traffic Updates, Location Services, Vehicle Status and Health Alerts.

Transit Bus drivers can also keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road by using SYNC 3’s voice-activated features, including optional voice-activated sat-nav as well as standard Apple CarPlayiii and Android Autoiii smartphone compatibility.
