Free counselling offered for Victorian transport workers

Transport and logistics insurance specialist, NTI, has announced it will offer counselling to Victorian workers who feel impacted by the state's ongoing lockdown.

In a statement issued today the company confirmed that a service would be provided free of charge for truck drivers, cargo and warehouse personnel and construction workers.

NTI confirmed it would leverage its trauma counselling and employee assistance service provider, Assure Programs, to provide Victorian logistics and transport workers counselling throughout September and October.

Having experienced the lockdown first-hand, CEO Tony Clark said the counselling sessions were a continuation of NTI’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of those
who keep Australia moving.

“It has been a very uncertain time and we want to show those in Victoria that we are here to help,” he said.

“We know lockdown is affecting everyone differently and we would encourage anyone who might need assistance to reach out,” said Clark.

Clark made the observation that for many, it will be the first time they might need to access support like this.

“But we want them to know that support and a listening ear is there for them,” he said.

“Sessions can be conducted via phone or Skype and are, of course, completely confidential.”

NTI already offers counselling support to its 14,000 customers following a claim but wanted to extend that reach to all Victorian customers, as well as Victorian insurance partners, across NTI’s entire brand and product portfolio.

Recently NTI was announced as a top-tier partner of Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds, a not-for-profit foundation focused on delivering better mental health outcomes in the road
transport and logistics industries.
