Good news on global economy

Further signs of a recovery in the global freight market comes from figures recently published about container freight volumes around the world. The latest estimate by industry analyst AXS Alphaliner suggests overall container numbers being handled around the world will top figures from 2008, before the recession hit.

In 2008, 535 million TEU (20 foot container equivalents) were recorded whereas 2010 is expected to see 545 million, an 11.6% increase on figures recorded in 2009.
