Kings Group appoints new Non-Executive Director

The Kings Group has announced the appointment of an experienced pharmacist to its board.

Joining as a Non-Executive Director, George Tambassis, who has a deep knowledge of the pharmacy sector, joined the Kings Group board on the 26 May.

Tambassis reportedly brings significant strategic and operational experience developed over 35 years, including 15 years as a director of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

During seven and a half years as the Guild’s National President, he headed negotiations between the Government and the Guild to conclude the 6th and 7th Community Pharmacy Agreements.

An experienced pharmacist, who has operated community pharmacies for more than 30 years, Tambassis was also inaugural President of the World Pharmacy Council and an Associate Expert Group member at the OECD advising on global best practice approaches and innovations in pharmacy and the broader health sector.

Tambassis knowledge of the Healthcare industry in particular, will assist the Kings Group to further grow and develop existing strategic initiatives it said in an online statement.

The Kings Group has offered a secure ‘same day’ medication delivery from community pharmacy to their patients’ home or aged care facility.

In April last year, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia encouraged metropolitan pharmacies to consider implementing the Kings Group ‘Pharmacy to Home Delivery Service’ at the height of the COVID-19 alarm.

As a partner with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and industry leader Sigma Healthcare, Kings Transport maintains a longstanding presence within the wellness industry, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector to provide distribution solutions with a commitment to emerging market services and technologies.
