Linfox has helped transport and construct thousands of tonnes of race track infrastructure for the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

Over several months leading up to the annual event held each autumn in Albert Park, Linfox’s dedicated Grand Prix team safely transport and install barriers, debris fences and tyre buffers around the 5.2 kilometre-long lakeside circuit.

The site during this period undergoes strict safety and compliance audits.

A team of 40 people are engaged by Linfox to put together and remove more than 3,000 concrete barriers weighing thousands of tonnes.

The team is onboarded in September, then commences safety and operational process training in October before starting the build in early January.

“Linfox is proud to provide expert logistics services for the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix – a job we’ve completed on time, every time since 1996,” the company said in a statement.

“We look forward to another successful event and proudly play our part to help Melbourne shine on the global F1 stage.”

Major changes were actioned last year on the track with turns 1, 3, 6 and 13 all widened following the removal of the chicane at 9-10 which permitted a boost in straight line speed for drivers.

This year a fourth DRS zone between Turns 6 and 11 was added.

The race is scheduled to take place 2 April at 3.00pm EST.
