National regulator boss named

The person who is to head the planned National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Board is the Managing Director of Main Roads Western Australia, Menno Henneveld. His job is to oversee the project of developing the national regulator in the lead up to its establishment, sometime in 2013.

Also appointed to the board are Ann King from NSW, Gary Liddle from VicRoads, Queensland’s Alan Tesch, Nick Dimopoulos from the NTC and Lyn O’Connell representing the Commonwealth.

“From his time at Main Roads Western Australia, Henneveld will bring a good understanding of the trucking industry to the new role with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Project Board,” said ATA CEO Stuart St Clair. “He will also bring an understanding of the need to continue and expand the productivity gains that currently operate in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.”
