Hino teases 721 truck set to join 300 series

An important expansion for the 300 series is expected to be announced by Hino Australia next month.

As part of its upcoming launch in July for the new 2020 Hino 300 Series it is understood the 921 will be joined by the new 721.

It will be made available with a gross vehicle mass of 6.5 tonnes.

The light duty vehicles feature the Hino J05 engine and six-speed automatic transmission.

Considered segment leading, the J05E-UJ engine used at present in the popular 300 Series 921 automatic transmission model generates 205 horsepower (151kW) at 2,600rpm and 600Nm of torque from 1500rpm.

The 5.1 litre inline four cylinder Hino J05E engines on offer currently in the high horsepower 300 Series trucks are Euro 5 rated and produce the most power in their class, without sacrificing fuel efficiency or emissions.

According to Hino more details for the new 300 Series will be released closer to its launch date.

“Further details will be released closer to the time, however we know the new 721 vehicles will be of particular interest to tradespeople and local councils,” said Daniel Petrovski, Product Strategy Manager for Hino Australia.
