Aramex Australia has reported a 30 per cent increase in deliveries, making it a record for the delivery chain specialist when compared to this time last year.
Government enforced regulations have prompted an uptake in last mile and courier services during the COVID-19 pandemic with more Australians working or isolated to their homes.
Formerly known as Fastway Couriers, Aramex Australia at present boasts more than 800 independently owned franchisees delivering across 28 regional franchise networks.
This includes urgent supplies to elderly residents such as medicine.
Aramex Australia CEO, Peter Lipinski said the company was meeting the needs of businesses and consumers who were rapidly adapting to the new normal.
“In the past fortnight we have seen a 34 per cent increase in deliveries in comparison to this time last year," he said.
"With more Australians working from home we are seeing many more home deliveries and customers delivering care packages to friends and family," said Lipinski.
The products with the largest increase in deliveries, according to Lipinski, have been, to date, wine and pet food.
He said couriers were encouraged by the chorus of thanks and appreciation shown to them by consumers adjusting to new work-from-home and social-distancing policies.
“I’m so proud of our couriers across Australia,” said Lipinski. “They really care and go above and beyond for our customers.”
