Volvo announces launch strategy for new trucks in Australia

Following its global media launch last week Volvo Group Australia has announced a timeline for the coming four new trucks.

The Wacol site in Brisbane will produce the latest versions of the FH16, FH, FM and FMX commercial vehicles for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Volvo Group will open its order books in the fourth quarter for production to commence in early 2021.

Customer trucks will be on the road as early as Q2, 2021 Volvo confirmed in a media statement.

Intensive on-site testing, following manufacture, is expected to ensure the trucks can withstand the toughest of conditions.

The news comes after Volvo last week cancelled its global media event for the regenerated trucks at its home in Gothenburg, Sweden amid growing Coronavirus concerns in Europe.
