Primary Connect offers pro bono transport services

Emerging logistics powerhouse, Primary Connect, will provide pro bono transport services as part of a newly announced initiative to help families in need.

Furthering its partnership with Foodbank, Australia’s largest food relief organisation, Primary Connect is set to donate its transport services for the Latina Fresh program.

The Latina Fresh program commenced in August of this year as a collaboration between Foodbank Australia, General Mills and its supply chain with the mission of distributing Latina Fresh Ricotta and Spinach Agnolotti to families doing it tough.

General Mills covers the manufacturing of the product and invites its suppliers to donate the raw materials, packaging and services. This dramatically reduces the cost of the product which is then donated to Foodbank Australia.

General Mills will produce on average 10,000 dedicated meals of Latina Fresh Ricotta and Spinach Agnolotti each month for Foodbank Australia.

Primary Connect has partnered with the program by getting the products delivered safely to Foodbank’s warehouses across Australia.

“Partnerships are at the heart of everything Foodbank does and our world-leading collaborative supply programs are the perfect example of businesses throughout the supply chain coming together to support people in need,” said Michael Davidson, Foodbank Australia General Manager — National Food Chain.

“We’re delighted to have Primary Connect come on board as the exclusive pro bono transport provider for the Latina Fresh program.

“This level of commitment not only means Foodbank can reach more people with more food year round, it also leads the way for other industry stakeholders to get involved.”
