Qube Agri launches with major acquisition

Logistics and transport leader, Qube, has reported it has reached an agreement to acquire the business assets of Agrigrain.

Logistics and transport leader, Qube, has reported it has reached an agreement to acquire the business assets of Agrigrain.

A NSW-based grain handling business, Agrigrain offers onsite services including seed and fertiliser management, silo and bulker storage, grain drying, grading and bagging and container packing, as well as road and rail transport options.

The agreement includes the acquisition of Agrigrain’s logistics facilities in both Narromine and Coonamble.

Agrigrain offers services above and beyond large bulk handlers, maintaining a storing local presence.

This advantage, combined with Qube’s market-leading integrated logistics solutions, provides regional exporters with direct access to world markets.

Qube Agri, as the new business will be known, forms part of the Qube Logistics business.

The acquisition, together with Quattro in Port Kembla and Qube’s container services in Port Botany, allows Qube Logistics to provide expanded services through bulk and containerised rail and road services as well as bulk port infrastructure.

“The acquisition of Agrigrain facilities is significant as it provides Qube the ability to deliver integrated logistics services to its regional customers,” said John Digney, Qube Director Logistics.
